About our Horses

We have beautiful Irish cobs who are members of our  family who are loved and well cared for. We never work the same horse every day we rotate them and give them days off. They also only do the one trip a day to dun Aonghasa so that day trip tour is never rushed. They are kept out in large pastures and not confined in Stables. The Gypsy Cobs have compact, powerful bodies with broad backs, thick manes and tails and feathered feet and are known for being strong, good natured and very hardy

On the way back  We also stop to see the ruins of a  7th century church called St Chiaráin church  where there does be weddings. This tour is a great option for anyone with limited time on the island especially people that have taken the Galway city ferry that have to be back at 3pm and is the most popular  if want to also have time to look at the sweater shops  in Kilronan  and to have lunch before  heading back  on ferry and also for kids that doesn't want to be doing the longest tour.

This tour  takes you to the east side of the island where the airport is. It's all along the sea and it's a beautiful part of the island it is a village called killeany  which is a fishing village. On this tour we make a stop to see the runes of a church. You also get to see the smallest Church in Ireland and in Europe from the distance. Very Scenic part of The Island but if you're looking for more peaceful and quieter part of the island especially during the busiest hours of the island this is the place to go.

3.5hour tour

Are longest tour  you see the famous Dun Aonghasa Its a village called kilmurvey sweater shops and cafes there too. It is a 6 mile trip over to the Cliffs. We wait for you while you explore the cliffs. You also get to see kilmurvey beach we can also make a stop there. Also stops at Aran seal colony viewpoint, And anywhere that takes your  interest as this is the only tour we do for the day.

Dún Aonghasa is about 1km from the Visitor Centre and is approached over rising ground. The last section of the path is over rough, natural rock and care is needed, especially when descending. Boots or strong walking shoes are recommended. There is no fence or barrier at the edge of the cliff.

Perilously perched on a sheer sea-cliff, Dún Aonghasa defiantly faces the Atlantic Ocean. It is the largest of the prehistoric stone forts of the Aran Islands.

Dún Aonghasa is over 3,000 years old. Excavations have revealed significant evidence of prehistoric metalworking, as well as several houses and burials. The whole complex was refortified in AD 700–800.
